This reader uses the Web Speech API built into your browser: the same offline voices your phone's accessibility features use. Pick a voice, tune speed and pitch, and press play — even long articles stream sentence-by-sentence. Honest note: voice quality depends on your device (Chrome and Edge on Windows/Android usually ship the best neural voices), there is no studio-grade narration, and it cannot save an audio file — it is a reader, not an exporter.

Is my text uploaded to a server?

No. Speech synthesis runs on your device through the browser's built-in engine — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps reading.

Can I download the audio as MP3?

Not with this tool — the Web Speech API plays audio without exporting it. Recording your device output is a separate matter; check local rules before recording.

Why do some voices sound robotic?

Voices come from your operating system. Installing your platform's enhanced/neural voice packs (free on Windows, Android and iOS) upgrades the quality instantly.

Is there a length limit?

No practical limit — long text is queued sentence-by-sentence. Extremely long pastes may pause briefly between chunks on older phones.

Which browsers work best?

Chrome and Edge have the widest voice support. Safari works on Apple devices. Some Android browsers ship no voices at all — the tool will tell you.
