Reddit Video Downloader — Official Player, Info & Save Routes

Paste any reddit.com post link with video — the official player loads here, public post info is fetched straight from Reddit's own JSON API in your browser, and honest save routes are shown.

Quick answer: Paste a Reddit post link to load the official player, fetch public post info, and get honest save routes. Free, browser-side, nothing stored.

⚖️ Only fetch or convert content you own or have permission to use. Respect copyright and each platform's Terms of Service.

Paste the reddit video downloader link

💡 Official player + live post info from Reddit's public API. Single-file MP4 = server-side DASH-merge — your OWN originals come from Reddit's data-request export.

⬇️ Want more download options? The Universal Downloader also grabs YouTube thumbnails in every size and works with your own video files — technical users can connect their own download server there.

⚡ Advanced — real file downloads via your own server (optional)

A browser alone cannot save video files from most platforms. If you run your own cobalt server (free & open-source), connect it below once — it is stored only in YOUR browser, and file downloads then run entirely through YOUR server, never through ours. Set a primary (e.g. an always-on Oracle Cloud free VPS) and optionally a Render/Koyeb backup — if the primary is asleep or offline, downloads switch to the backup automatically. Only save content you own or have the right to keep.

About this tool

Reddit hosts videos with its own player and (since the API changes) tightens access yearly. This downloader parses the post ID from your link, loads the official Reddit player/post on this page, and — from your browser, which Reddit's CORS rules treat differently than datacenter bots — attempts a direct fetch of the post's public JSON for title, author and cover. Honest note: Reddit's video files are split audio+video streams (DASH), so single-file MP4 ripping needs server-side merging — the reason so many Reddit downloaders churn and break. Your OWN content: Reddit's Data request export delivers your originals (and even then videos may come as separate streams). We keep the reliable half local.

FAQ

How do I download Reddit videos with audio?

Reddit stores video and audio as separate streams — that's why downloader sites run server-side mergers. This tool gives you the official player and post info locally; for your OWN posts, Reddit's data-request export provides your files.

Does the JSON info fetch always work?

From personal browsers it usually does; Reddit blocks datacenter traffic aggressively, and if the fetch is refused the tool says so honestly and opens the official post instead.

What about private or quarantined subreddits?

Not supported — accessing non-public content without permission is a privacy violation.

Is my link logged?

No — parsing happens in your browser; the only network call goes directly from you to reddit.com's public API.
